Harvested at the beginning of winter before sunrise, each crocus flower yields three stamens which are gently collected by hand - 200 being needed to make 1g. Used in Morocco as a medicinal plant, the Romans used it in their thermal baths to revive honeymooners. Try it in your cooking, a little goes a long way.
